Stockholm through the eyes of an Erasmus Intern🪄
Stockholm, Sweden
🎭 Art & Culture🛍️ Shopping
OVERVIEW
I spent the Fall/Winter Season of 2024 in Stockholm and i must say that this city is magical🪄❤️
My personal recommendation is to stay in Stockholm for 4-5 days in order to experience all the spots, and preferably in Autumn or Spring -although i must say, i would visit in early October if I were you-
There are 4 main areas to explore in Stockholm, 1 for each day (in this way you can revisit your favorite spot on the last day🤭)
📍Stockholm Town (Norrmalm, Östermalm)
📍Stockholm's old town (Gamla Stan)
📍The hippie/trendy neighborhood of Sodermalm
📍The magical island-museum, Djugården
Now, shall we explore all my fave spots?
Swedish Fika🇸🇪 Coffee & Pastries☕️🥐
Swedish Fika refers to the Swedish tradition of taking a break from the day while enjoying Coffee and pastries. This is deeply rooted in the Swedish culture and for this reason, the coffee spots across town are incredible!
You haven't experienced Stockholm until you enjoy your coffee with a Kanelbulle in my opinion
Ps. Skip on Fika time in Gamla Stan. Super expensive/touristy and no spots worth trying.
Food🧆
I personally enjoyed the Swedish cuisine and it is definitely worth trying! But in case you don't want to eat it everyday (i personally didn't) i will include other spots i enjoyed as well.
Gamla stam is the place to go for swedish restaurants!! Almost all of them are worth it
Sightseeing that is worth it!
A list of museums or other mention worthy places
Where do I go for drinks???🍸
SOO about the nightlife!
It can be crazy expensive. I personally pre gamed before a lot🤫
Usually there are many bars/clubs that have a "free entrance hour" check it out on their website or instagram beforehand.
Also there is a "guest list" kind of thing here. You may be rejected entrance in lots of places. You can sign up for the list of the night before hand (on website or insta) and the chanced of getting in will be higher.
Personal opinion: nightlife is a bit..... "trashy"🫢 *don't come for me, just personal taste!"*
But going out and getting hammered is part of the swedish lifestyle so it is worth experiencing it yourself!
Here we go!
