belokal. hereby grants you access to belokal.co ("the Website") and invites you to purchase the services offered here. These Terms are the end-user terms of use for the Service.
By creating an account, signing in, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Trips is a collaborative travel-planning feature that lets invited members create and use a shared trip workspace. Trips may include planning tools, saved places, voting, chat, tasks, packing lists, logistics, accommodations, budgets, itineraries, Today view content, maps, and trip memories.
Trips may move through different states, including Dreaming, Planning, Active, and Ended. Some features may be available only in certain states. For example, Active trip tools may include live location sharing, Today view, live map, and Active edits. After a Trip ends, the Trip may be preserved as a memory and may become read-only, though chat or other limited features may remain available.
Trip members may be able to view, add, edit, react to, or otherwise interact with shared trip content depending on their role, trip state, and the feature being used. If you leave or are removed from a Trip, you may lose access to that Trip, but content you previously contributed may remain visible to remaining members unless deleted through available controls or removed as required by law.
You are responsible for the content you add to a Trip, including trip details, notes, chat messages, links, votes, tasks, packing items, logistics, accommodation details, access codes, WiFi passwords, emergency contacts, flight or transport information, budget entries, expense records, split choices, and settlement notes.
You should only add personal information about another person if you have the right or permission to do so. You should avoid adding sensitive information unless it is necessary for your Trip and appropriate for the trip members who can see it. belokal uses reasonable security measures, but Trips is not intended to be a secure vault for highly sensitive secrets.
belokal does not verify the accuracy, completeness, safety, or reliability of trip logistics, accommodation instructions, access codes, emergency contacts, budgets, travel plans, map information, or user-entered content. You are responsible for checking important travel details with the relevant provider or authority.
The Service may allow users to create, upload, post, send, store, or share content, including profiles, photos, messages, trip content, comments, reactions, links, reports, and other materials ("User Content"). We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
You may not submit, share, encourage, or engage in content or conduct that is illegal, threatening, abusive, harassing, bullying, discriminatory, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, pornographic, exploitative, violent, graphic, deceptive, fraudulent, spammy, unsafe, invasive of privacy, infringing, or otherwise objectionable. You also may not use the Service to target, intimidate, impersonate, exploit, or harm another person or group.
We may use automated tools, manual review, keyword or media filters, user reports, and other moderation processes to detect, filter, restrict, hide, reject, or remove objectionable User Content before or after it appears in the Service, including filtering objectionable material from being posted to or remaining on the Service. Moderation tools are not perfect, and you remain responsible for your User Content and conduct.
You can flag or report objectionable content, abusive behavior, or a user who violates these Terms through the in-app reporting tools or by contacting us at support@belokal.co or through our contact page. Reports may include the reported content, the reported user's account, your account, the reason for the report, timestamps, and related context needed to review and act on the report.
You can block abusive users through the in-app blocking tools. Blocking a user immediately removes or hides that user's content from your feed or relevant view, limits further interactions where the feature supports it, and notifies belokal so we can review the reported conduct and related content.
We will act on objectionable content reports within 24 hours. Where we confirm that content or conduct violates these Terms, we may remove the offending content, eject the user who provided the offending content from the relevant trip or area of the Service, suspend or terminate the user's account, preserve information needed for safety or legal reasons, and take any other action we consider appropriate to protect users and the Service.
Trips may include optional live location sharing for accepted members of an Active trip. If you enable live location sharing and grant the relevant device permission, your location may be shared with other accepted members of that Trip while the feature is enabled and while you have access to the Trip.
Live location sharing is provided for convenience and group coordination only. It is not an emergency, rescue, safety, or security service. Location may be delayed, unavailable, inaccurate, interrupted, or affected by device settings, battery level, operating system permissions, connectivity, maps, or third-party services. If you or another person may be in danger, contact local emergency services.
You can turn off live location sharing through the in-app control or by revoking the relevant operating-system location permission. Live sharing should also stop when the Trip is no longer Active, when you leave or lose access to the Trip, or when the relevant permission is revoked.
Certain Active trip features may require a one-time, per-trip digital unlock. This unlock is not a subscription, does not renew, is not account-wide, and does not unlock all future trips. The unlock applies only to the specific Trip for which it is purchased.
Any accepted trip member may purchase the unlock for the Trip group. A member may choose to treat the purchase as a gift or record it in the Trip budget or split tools, but belokal does not collect reimbursements from other members and does not manage informal debts, settlements, or repayments between trip members.
Trips unlock purchases are processed through Apple In-App Purchase on iOS or Google Play Billing on Android. belokal does not collect your payment card details for these app-store transactions. Apple or Google may act as the seller or payment processor for those purchases, and their own terms, billing rules, taxes, and refund processes may apply.
Trips unlock purchases are final except where a refund is required by applicable law or approved by Apple or Google under their store policies. Where required by the relevant platform, refund requests should be made through Apple or Google.
If Apple or Google notifies us that a Trips unlock purchase was refunded, revoked, canceled, charged back, or otherwise reversed, we may remove the related paid Active unlock from that Trip. If Apple or Google later reverses a refund or revocation decision, we may restore the unlock where technically and commercially reasonable.
Trips may include budget, expense, split, and settlement tools. These tools are for planning and coordination only. belokal does not verify, guarantee, collect, transfer, or settle amounts between trip members. Any informal splits, reimbursements, debts, or settlements between trip members are solely the responsibility of those members.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. We may restrict or require additional controls for features involving live location, group chat, payments, or other sensitive functionality where required by law, platform rules, or our safety practices.
To help explain things as clearly as possible in these Terms, every time any of these terms are referenced, are strictly defined as:
Cookie: small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser. It is used to identify your browser, provide analytics, remember information about you such as your language preference or login information.
