Istanbul, the culture crossroads in 4 full days 🎞️🤎
Istanbul, İstanbul, Türkiye
💡 General Insights
📖 Istanbul, better known as Constantinople for the Greeks, is a city where continents, cultures, and centuries meet. Straddling Europe and Asia across the Bosporus Strait, it has served as the capital of three great empires: Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman. Walking through its streets is a journey through shared history, layered with beauty, nostalgia, and a unique sense of connection.
🗓️ I visited the city in July 2025. The weather was perfect, sunny, breezy, no humidity. I definitely recommend visiting during spring or summer months.
📍Best place to stay is around Sultanahmet area or Galata / Beyoglu.
✏️ Note that the best thing you can do in Turkey—since you’re not covered by the EU’s roaming rules—is to get a Turkish eSIM and top it up with whichever plan or bundle you prefer. This way you’ll be able to make calls, send SMS and use mobile data without worrying about high roaming fees. Also, keep in mind that the local currency is the Turkish lira (TRY), so you’ll need to exchange money or use a card that supports currency conversion such as Revolut.
