• Kampos [Atmos] (fully organized –worth going for food or a beer even if you’re not into the organized beach vibe – the water is always calm)
• Livadi Geranou – a definite must (bring a mask and snorkel so you can swim to the little island across from the beach)
• Petra Beach (there’s an iconic giant rock you can climb all the way up – worth it)
• Psili Ammos – definitely go (a ~25–30 minute walk – totally worth it – you can also eat goat stew there AND stay until sunset which drops right into the sea – bring a ball/guitar/anything fun)
• Didymes (on the right twin beach, walk further to the right and you’ll find a tiny secluded beach that’s really lovely)
• Vagia (there’s a café just above the beach – get the super tasty chocolate cake)
Restaurants/Taverns/Brunch
• Tsipouradiko – absolutely go
• Benetos (in Sapsila)
• Benetos (in Chora) – a must for brunch/breakfast - amazing service
• Vangelis (in Chora) – for dinner
• Loza – for dinner
• Ta Souvlakia tou Pappou
• Kýma – fancy - incredible location right by the sea
• Trehantiri – for seafood (note: it has harsh/cold lighting)
IMPORTANT: Make reservations for everything if you want to actually eat if you’re here during August– almost even for the souvlaki place if you want a seat
Drinks
• Thalami (in Chora) – ABSOLUTELY GO - amaazing quality vibes
• Kasbah (in Skala) – for after-hours clubbing (electro-techno beats)
• NAMA (in Skala) – also electronic vibes but it closes at 3am
Activities & General Tips:
• Definitely take a boat tour to the nearby islets (Makronisi, Aspronisia, Tiganakia, Arkoi) – either with the public boat (“Iakovos”) or privately
• Walk around Chora at sunset – out of this world
• Visit Mr. Andreas’ gallery and Kapopoulos Gallery for a bit of an art experience
• Sunset at Profitis Ilias
• Visit the Cave of the Apocalypse and the Monastery
