If there’s one thing Andros has plenty of its beaches. Whether you’re into organized beach bars or total off-the-grid vibes, Andros has something for everyone.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. Many of the island’s best beaches especially the more secluded ones — require a short or long stretch of dirt road to get to. That doesn’t mean you need a 4x4, but it’s good to drive carefully if you’re in a regular car.
2. Being part of the Cyclades, wind is a thing here. Always check the wind direction before choosing a beach, so you can avoid strong waves or uncomfortable conditions. Trust me, it makes a big difference!
Below are my personal favorite beaches on the island. Some are more well-known, some are local secrets but they all have that something special. :) ze sq
Food 🐟
Andros has a bit of everything when it comes to food but it’s probably best known for its local products: meats, cheeses, honey, and all the good stuff from the mountains and villages.
Below are some food spots I personally recommend based on my own experiences, along with a few newer places I haven’t tried yet but have heard great things about. :)
Dinks 🍸
Andros isn’t the island you visit for wild nightlife it’s the place you go to relax, explore beautiful landscapes, and swim in crystal-clear waters.
That said, even though it doesn’t have a huge number of bars or clubs, the few it does have are really well-done. During high season, they’re usually packed and full of energy, with great music, a laid-back but lively vibe, and often events or DJ nights that go until sunrise if the crowd is there.
Coffee & Sweet Bites
I’ll be honest, I’m not the type to sit down for coffee every day while on the island. I usually grab mine to go before hitting the beach.
Still, over the years I’ve discovered a few spots that are either ideal for a proper sit-down coffee, or perfect when you’re craving something sweet after your swim.
This isn’t a full-on café guide, just some places I personally like (or that I’ve heard great things about) when it comes to coffee, sweets, or even a quick afternoon pick-me-up.
So here are some options — whether you’re in the mood for an iced espresso, a traditional Greek coffee, or just something sugary to go with your sea view.
Adventurous stuff / extras
Andros isn’t just about beaches, food, and drinks it’s also an ideal destination for those who love a bit of exploration and adventure. With its lush green landscapes, running streams, gorges, and a well-marked network of hiking trails. So if you’re into hiking, road-tripping, or simply enjoy wandering off the beaten path, there’s definitely more to Andros than meets the eye.
